Scotland, London, Paris, and Italy

We are so excited to finally tie the knot! And after over 9 years together we are not doing anything the traditional way, of course! If you are asking yourself, why Grenta Green, I have a brief history lesson for you. In the mid 1700s, England changed their marriage laws so you had to either be over the age of 21 to get married or have your parents permission, but that rule did not apply in Scotland. Grenta Green is the first town over the border in Scotland, so young couples would cross the border, get married by the local blacksmith, then hop back over the border married, and their parents could not do anything about it! Now we are both clearly over 21 and have had our parents' permission for years, but what could be more romantic than getting married in the original blacksmith shop where couples have said their vows for over 250 years! And while we are over there, we might as well have a honeymoon before we return for the reception. And since we have been together for so long and have already filled our house with more stuff than we need, we are registering for activities to do on our honeymoon. So if you see something on the registry that you think we should do, please make sure to pick it up before we get there!
Here is our itinerary and we will defintely bring back souvenirs and pictures of everything!
May 19th - Arrive in London and head to Edinburgh, Scotland
May 20th - Day in Edinburgh, Scotland
May 21st - Arrive in Gretna Green to get married!
May 22nd - Wedding day!
May 23rd - Travelling through London and on to Paris
May 24th - Paris
May 25th - Day in Paris followed by the midnight train from Paris to Venice
May 26th-May 27th - Venice
May 28th - Venice and Verona (can't miss seeing Juliet's balcony!)
May 29th - Florence
May 30th - Bus tour through Tuscany and then on to Rome
May 31st - June 1st - Rome
June 2nd - Day in Lake Como
June 3rd - June 5th - Back in London to finish our trip
June 6th - Heading home

Can't wait to see everyone on June 23rd for more celebrating and dancing of course!

One honeymoon date we can't miss! A day tour of Ancient Rome! An exciting journey through history and its legends, stories and anecdotes. With our guide we will begin at the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine, then take a leisurely stroll through the Roman Forum and the Imperial Fori to the Capitol Hill, ending up at the Pantheon, Hadrian's temple dedicated to all the pagan gods. What a great day!

Next, we will visit the town hall and the Uffizi Gallery, one of Italy's leading art galleries. We'll visit the church of the Santa Croce home to frescoes by Giotto and tombs of some of Florence's greatest men: Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Galileo and Rossini and no visit would be complete without a tour of the Gallery of the Academy with the original masterpiece David by Michelangelo!
