All of our planning has paid off and we finally get to see the ship. Your gift will pay for 10 hours of heaven on this maginficent vessel. We are setting sail for 14 days in the waters of the Baltic Sea. That's right you can pay for a whole day if you want and we will even refer to the day by your name so instead of Monday it could be Gretta Day or Ralph Day.nnThe Ship:nnThe Noordam has been described as a “perfect ship,”. Perhaps she’s “perfect” because Holland America Line had the experience of building three sister vessels that preceded Noordam: Zuiderdam, introduced in 2002, to Oosterdam (2003), to Westerdam (2004) and finally Noordam (2006).nnNoordam made her debut with all Signature of Excellence upgrades in place. The multi-million-dollar Signature of Excellence initiative dramatically changed the “hardware” and “software” components of the fleet, with enhancements ranging from improved bedding to new public areas.

At the end of a long day we are going to relax over drinks in the ship's lounge. I know we are not HUGE drinkers but we are on our Honeymoon so we are planning on three drinks a day each. That adds up to over 60 drinks! Whew! I have a hangover already.We see a lot of this drinking happening at the Bar and while you won't be there with us, having your drinks in our hands will be a memory that is as close as we can get.

On the ship, you charge everything to your cabin. If you want a pack of gum, a Holland America T-Shirt, a bottle of duty free purfume or a copy of a picture taken by the ships photographer you just wave your room key at the crewmember and it is yours. The problem is that you need to settle up at the end of the cruise and that can really add up. If you'd like to ease the sticker shock when we get that bill, then here is your chance.
